About Tony:
Welcome! I’m Tony DiMarco, Registered Massage Therapist (R.M.T.) & Body-Mind Coach. I have been happily serving Oakville and its surrounding communities since graduating in January 2008. It has been truly special to treat patients in my own clinic since 2015. Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of working with thousands of amazing people with very diverse backgrounds (age, gender, ethnicity, medical histories, professions, etc) and health goals/objectives. As a bodyworker, I specialize in Medical Massage therapy to treat a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions. It has proven to be remarkably effective for people suffering from 'chronic pain' due to: (1) injuries or trauma (surgery); (2) unknown cause; (3) disease. |

Professional Bio:
I remember vividly when I was introduced to the possibilities of how massage could offer people so much more than 'relaxation', how it could be used to treat a wide range of painful conditions. It left an incredible impression upon me about the potential impact I could have on peoples' lives.
However, once I became a regulated health professional, one of my early struggles was witnessing the growing number of clinical cases that my medical textbooks could not necessarily or satisfactorily explain like: (1) irregular symptoms and findings; (2) pathologies without any presenting symptoms; (3) diagnosis without common symptoms; (4) pain without pathology.
Further, I found that patients weren't necessarily coming in to have a specific condition treated. Instead, what mostly brought everybody to seek out medical care was pain... a single symptom.
One major problem though! In most healthcare curricula, we aren't taught anything specifically about pain and pain science! Most healthcare professionals will admit this. Instead, we learn about the phenomenon of 'pain' as a consequence of the 'inflammation' and/or the effects of hypoxia (a deficiency in the amount of oxygen reaching the tissues). No wonder why so many of us are rely on medications like Ibuprofen or Aspirin (both NSAIDS: Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatories). Except that: (1) many patients had tried these medications without any pain relief; (2) and the other signs and symptoms of inflammation (redness, heat, swelling, loss of function) were non-existent.
I became increasingly troubled with the fact that a patient's pain and the findings on physical examination (or even health history) rarely matched. Given how & why each experienced their pain, which seemed to differ from person to person, it seemed irrational and impractical to rigidly adhere to any universal (cookie-cutter) treatment routines. It appeared impossible to predict an outcome. It's no wonder treating 'pain' left me feeling frustrated and discouraged.
As a result, I've dedicated my career to studying pain, its causes and its impact on our lives. I've searched for answers to some of the toughest health questions. Are there ways to optimize the chances of clinical success? And what, if anything, can I do to facilitate this process?
What has evolved has revolutionized my clinical practice and even radically transformed my personal life. It's now my purpose to educate, enlighten, and enliven the discussion of chronic pain and its care. I want you to know that you can actually have confidence in your body and health again.
I've helped enough people through the healing and recovery process that I can guarantee you the process will be more effective and more pleasurable working with someone. I will never pretend that I am a guru with all the answers. However, together we will develop your personal blue print to move through it and even grow from the experience!
If you are ready to make a commitment to live your best and have the courage to feel good and have life go well all the time, I'd love to hear from you!

Body-Mind Coach:
What I have witnessed in my years of experience as a Massage Therapist is that often times people come to me to address their physical pain, but what truly causes people to remain stuck in chronic pain is more related to their unconscious patterns (mental and physical-behaviours). Our habits have a large role in causing, contributing and keeping us in chronic pain. Body-Mind Coaching can be a very significant step in moving out of chronic pain. Coaching will focus on: (1) shifting your mindset about stress, to realize its impact on your life, and work to change your relationship with it; (2) and uncover the unconscious forces of the mind responsible for the destructive patterns in your life that keep you stressed and in pain so that you will grow to make more empowered choices for a happier, healthier and more abundant life! Personal Bio:
I am a seeker/finder. I am compulsively driven to seek the deepest truths about life. My evolution required a cultivation of my love of truth -- a process most accurately described by author Byron Katie's book "Loving What Is."
One of the most profound truths I've unraveled is that our attitude and behaviour towards our self-care is ultimately related to our level of self-worth. Inspiring others to believe in their worthiness requires me to model that journey and embody the message.
I realized the solution existed between me and my body and that to get better, we needed to be allies, not enemies! I needed to re-connect with my body and tap into its wisdom. So I began a new relationship with my body, and started listening to it in a very different way. I learned how to work with my body, opening up to what it needed, and allowing myself to receive it, and modified or discontinued what stunted it. Coming back to the body provided a direct way to reconnect with present reality. My reward has been an incredibly intimate, kinesthetic connection with life. As as result, I have made a lifelong commitment to always remain engaged with life while keeping it real (authentic).
Now, it is my mission share this with you and to let you know (or remind you) that you're more powerful than you even know!
Personal Core Values:
(1) Truth: Authenticity. Clarity - Meaning/Purpose (Know Your Why), growth/evolution.
(2) Freedom: Liberation/autonomy (mental and physical): Mental (from fears, limiting/disempowering beliefs, addictions/compulsions) & Physical (from pain, disability, addictions/compulsions). whose meaning/purpose self-expression without limitations. From dependence. I honor this value as an entrepreneur, as a therapist who has the ability to develop the art of healing, and by making decisions consistent for a healthy lifestyle.
(3) Connection: Love and belonging are irreducible needs of every human being.
I believe each of us has intrinsic value.
Mentors & Coaches: Sean Goodwill, Laura Wieck
Authors & Thought Leaders: Kyle Cease, Eckhart Tolle, Brene Brown, Byron Katie, Dan Millman, Tony Robbins, Napolean Hill, Robin Sharma, Don Miguel Ruiz, Stephen Covey, Kerwin Rae, Lissa Rankin, M.D., John Sarno, M.D.
Deepest thanks to all my past & present teachers, mentors and other sources of inspiration, too numerous to name, for your part in my journey. And to my family, for their patience, love, and support.
